Gallery: 2008 Mercury Grand Marquis
DESCRIPTION:
Of all the vehicles Mercury offers, the 2008 Grand Marquis is by far the eldest-looking vehicle. Its uninspiring styling desperately needs to be sucked out of the 70’s and renovated in the near future. Tradition is good in reasonable doses. The interior of the Grand Marquis isn’t quite as repulsive as the exterior, but does lack in features. Large displays and conservatively-designed amenities highlight the cabin. The single engine option is a 4.6 liter 224 horsepower V8 engine that offers 275 ft-lbs of torque. While you might not look smart driving the Grand Marquis, you will certainly feel comfortable with the adequate power and smooth steering. Although the four-speed automatic could use another speed and isn’t built for your need for speed, it couples well with the V8 to provide seamless, quick shifts. The average fuel economy for the Grand Marquis stands at 17 miles per gallon, which is poor considering the Mercury Mountaineer gets about the same. Overall, don’t expect much from the Mercury Grand Marquis, but if you’re looking for an old-school look with good power and not much else, the Grand Marquis might be your ride.
