Gallery: 2009 Honda Fit
DESCRIPTION:
While the Honda Fit has been in Japan and Europe since 2001, the Fit has only been here in the States since last year, yet its set to be redesigned around the globe. It’s known as the little Honda that can. The Fit provides an astounding 14.2 cubic feet of storage space. Who told me this was a small car? Compared to its 2008 model, the 2009 Honda Fit packs a larger cabin and improved handling. The ’09 model is dressed in a sportier body and has the sharper edges the ’08 so dearly needed. The windshield was positioned nearly 5 inches closer to the front of the car, contributing to the roominess of the Fit. The wheelbase was widened by two inches to provide further storage capacity and better steering. The inside of the Fit boasts better quality materials, more passenger-friendly seats, and a 4-way adjustable steering wheel. Beware of the missing spare tire, which frees up 1.5 cubic feet of space. Dehydration will never be an issue assuming you utilize the ten cup holders. The 1.5L 4-cylinder iVTEC engine boasts 118 horsepower, 11 more than the Chevy Aveo. The 0 to 60 in 8.9 is a moderate measure for this spacious gas-friendly vehicle. Road tests show that the 2009 Fit can achieve upwards of 38 miles per gallon during mostly highway travel. Overall, the Honda Fit is being improved in nearly every aspect and remains very affordable (around $14,000) and extremely fuel efficient (27/33 mpg).
