Performance Specs: The Pontiac G6 was introduced in the fall of 2004 to replace the popular, but outdated Grand Am. Not only did the name change, the styling was better than many other Pontiacs to be released in a long time. The excessive use of plastic body cladding on the Grand Am is noticably absent; the G6 looks clean and stylish. The inside was also given a once over. Gone is the overstyled and overwhelmingly busy dash. Materials are much better. The G6 also gains available side and side curtain airbags (standard on 2006 models). The G6 boasts a long 112.3" wheelbase, thanks to the extended GM Epsilon platform it shared with the Chevrolet Malibu Maxx.
