DESCRIPTION: The 340 horsepower 2008 Lexus GS450h will set you back a good $55,800. Who said you can’t have luxury performance with economical gas consumptions? Not Lexus. The 3.5-Liter V6 engine allows for 22 city miles and 25 highway miles per gallon and displaces 3.5L/211cu in. While the gas mileage leaves room for much improvement, a ferocious 0-60 of 5.2 seconds and top speed of 131mph solidify this hybrids performance-first initiative. 60 to 0 braking takes 123 feet 37.5 decibels at idleWith room for 5, this luxury sports hybrid sedan will have your family traveling in comfort and style. The electronically controls Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) provides smooth rides and Lexus-standard comfort. The GS450h comes with 18” 5-spoke aluminum alloy rims with chrome accent and 245/40ZR18 summer tires (245/40VR18 all-season run-flat tires optional). Dual-zone climate control, voice-activated DVD navigation system, Bluetooth integration, SmartAccess keyless entry and ingnition, Lexus Link (similar to GM’s OnStar), electronic park assistant, auxiliary input (for your iPod, Zune, or laptop audio), and a Mark Levinson premium surround sounds audio system showcase all that Lexus has to offer. While this car is technically a hybrid, its fuel-economy might say otherwise. If you’ve got $56k to burn, I say grab yourself a nice Lexus ES350 and a Honda Civic Hybrid. Avoid a luxury tax and get the performance and fuel-economy you want. Or you could buy a couple Prius’ for you and your other half.
