Is this diesel Tundra a glimpse of the future or just a what if? Designers at Toyota Motorsports Group are always tinkering and looking for new possibilities, and this truck is the result of one of their visions.
The Tundra Dually was introduced at SEMA in 2007 and shows what could happen if Toyota decided to outfit a truck with a diesel engine and driveline from a Hino commercial truck.
About the Tundra Diesel Dually
* CrewMax Tundra with a 6.5-foot bed on a lengthened frame
* 8.0L diesel from a 35,000 pound Hino work truck
* Eaton 5-speed manual transmission
* Hino rear differential
Toyota Motorsports also modified the truck's bed, adding large external fenders to accommodate the dual rear wheels. A Reese fifth-wheel hitch adds to the Tundra's heavy duty capabilities.
