Ford unveiled these two concepts at the Frankfurt show in 2007.
Stephan Lamb, the Head of exterior design Europe, spoke to us about the two cars.
The Ford Verve is in Stephan's words, "a new interpretation of kenetic design, and how they'd like to see a small segment car from Europe." He also states that "the main purpose of the Verve is to be both agreeable to drive by men and women."
The Verve hints at a future of smaller cars. And do to the success of smaller cars in many markets in europe and America, that won't be changing anytime soon. There just isn't enough room on the roads for all of us anymore.
Ford plans on closing gauging public reaction while their designers continue working behind the scenes designing Ford's future mini mobile assault. The car is sleek, sophisticated and is for the driver that enjoys looks as well as practicality. We think the Verve would look better in black or grey with a dark window tint.
This car really builds on the kinetic design momentum of Ford's recent iosis and iosis X concept cars. And represents a bold expression of Ford's direction of future automobiles.
The Kuga is one of the most dynamic cars in the crossover segment. This car is both rugged and sleek. It's an icon on the streets and in the design world as well. The one featured at the Frankfurt show as the production version of the car and will be built at Ford's Saarlouis plant in Germany.
The Kuga will be available in front and all-wheel drive formats with a gasoline or diesel option. This is the first crossover developed in-house by Ford Europe, and is slated to be released in early 2008.
