The Goodguys Rod & Custom Association promotes and produces some of the world’s most dynamic automotive events. Founded by lifelong hot rodder Gary Meadors in 1983, Goodguys events feature thousands of candy colored hot rods and custom cars sprawled throughout venues such as lush fairgrounds, super speedways and large outdoor stadiums. The cars, the vendor exhibits, the live entertainment and colorful people create a festive atmosphere charged with electricity. Goodguys offers over 20 events annually across the country from New York to Florida, from San Diego to Seattle and all points in between. Their events range from two-day affairs attended by 30,000 to 40,000 people to three and four day extravaganza's attracting over 100,000 auto enthusiasts.
Goodguys is the world’s largest rod & custom association with membership fast approaching 70,000 nationwide! They attribute much of their growth because the events and the association appeal to and attract a wide range of auto enthusiasts. They aim to provide car owners and enthusiasts alike with fun, family oriented events where the main objective is to have fun with automobiles.
Perhaps one of the biggest stand-outs of this video's 2000 car deep GoodGuys meet up was Randy Palmer‘s rockin’ 40’ Ford Pickup. It’s easy to see how and why this truck could stand out and take the show away. It doesn’t even look like a pickup anymore. It’s stretched, widened, dropped, chopped and painted in every manner to make it look out of this world. The $25,000 paint job is reason alone to love this car, but there’s really so much more. Suicide doors open up to the hot red leather interior, and the hood has a 355 that produces a meager 825hp. Yes, you are reading that correctly.
The air ride system has much to boast about, as the truck alone must weigh a significant amout, but the aftermarket work, including the engine, probably puts immense stress on the suspension. It only gets more crazy when you see the pneumatic bed cover, blacked out gauges and decks, and the all leather interior. In a single word, this truck is CRAZY.
