The Goodguys Rod & Custom Association promotes and produces some of the world’s most dynamic automotive events. Founded by lifelong hot rodder Gary Meadors in 1983, Goodguys events feature thousands of candy colored hot rods and custom cars sprawled throughout venues such as lush fairgrounds, super speedways and large outdoor stadiums. The cars, the vendor exhibits, the live entertainment and colorful people create a festive atmosphere charged with electricity. Goodguys offers over 20 events annually across the country from New York to Florida, from San Diego to Seattle and all points in between. Their events range from two-day affairs attended by 30,000 to 40,000 people to three and four day extravaganza's attracting over 100,000 auto enthusiasts.
Goodguys is the world’s largest rod & custom association with membership fast approaching 70,000 nationwide! They attribute much of their growth because the events and the association appeal to and attract a wide range of auto enthusiasts. They aim to provide car owners and enthusiasts alike with fun, family oriented events where the main objective is to have fun with automobiles.

Al Hughes, the car owner, wanted a car that would stand out, so he made it a nice orange color and other stand out-ish features, including, that’s right, an LS2 Corvette motor. He says he wants the look of the old cars matched with the reliability, strength, economy and technology of the new parts. I agree, that’s significantly worth the change. Other small alterations include tiny door handle and gauge modifications that use the looks of the old, but implement new methods for this.
For all you prospective buyers out there, you’ll be happy to know that he’s selling this car. So long as you can foot the $175,000 bill, he would be more than happy to turn this baby over to you. Good deal, if you ask me.
