In this edition of the various reviews of the 2007 SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Show, the beautiful Lauren takes on Markus Schuster about the elegant new products rolling out of Carlsson. In this video in particular, the CEO of Carlsson himself was presenting his company’s fully loaded C350 with a complete body kit, electro-polished stainless steel, front and rear spoiler, and as he described “a very tasteful design.” This car has all the power and style of a supercar, but it manages to subdue its good looks in such a way that you could bring her home to the parents. Basically, this car is the Marry-Anne to a Ferrari’s Ginger (and let’s face it, everyone liked Marry-Anne more).
Schuster disclosed to the beautiful Lauren that Carlsson actually gets to plan its designs several months ahead of time, for instance, with this C350, Carlsson actually received the design plans for the Mercedes C Class 3-4 months ahead of its release. This allows for Carlsson to put their cars on the showroom floor the very same day as their partner Mercedes. Of course, as Mr. Schuster goes on to say, this is not uncommon in German automotive markets, as Carlsson’s very own General Manager’s brother is the General Manager of Hartge – the Carlsson equivalent of BMW, rather than Mercedes. Schuster detailed the importance of needing two distinct companies supplying an aftermarket edition to the car market because each company has their own philosophy. Hartge can follow BMW’s philosophy by focusing on a more sporty car, whereas Carlsson must focus on the classy and sophisticated philosophy behind Mercedes. This separation of philosophies is what separates the difference in between Carlsson’s Mary anne, and Hartge’s Ginger, allowing them both to stand out in a crowd of cars.
Talk about head turners, Carlsson really delivers at this year’s SEMA Show.
