Jessica Rayanne and Jarry B meet up Southern California to drive the 2008 Subaru 2008 Impreza around some windy roads. Larry has been driving the car for 3 days to get a good feel for it and starts off by immediately talking about the huge scoop in the hood used to cool air produced by the turbo. In the front more noticeable features are the chrome band around the mid section of the grill. The rims on the WRX Impreza are 17 inch 10 spoke alloys with 205 50 R tires, the rims are one inch bigger than the standard.
The powerhouse of this Impreza is a boxer flat 4 engine. Larry Points out the fact that it’s odd to look at the engine bay because you don’t see a valve cover like your used to seeing, instead everything normally at the sides of an engine are at the top. Even with this odd configuration the Impreza makes plenty of power for it’s size.
The interior has a nice cockpit feel along with the flat design orange day-glow gauges and a multipurpose headunit that includes GPS. The throttle response and steering of the Impreza was very good as Larry drove through the twists and turns losing the camera car.
Subaru is a company with a reputation forged in the world of Rally. For many years the Subaru World Rally Team has taken the rally world by storm with their amazing performance and ability winning many races and showing exactly what these cars can do. In the 1990s the company moved away from small commercial vehicles and concentrated on the development of mainstream passenger car models, starting with the Legacy and the Impreza in 1992. From there the standard Impreza sold until the Subaru Impreza WRX was brought to America in 2001. This is now the 8th installment of the WRX series Impreza’s and looks to be one of the best.
