Billy Blair from B2 Design Group tells us the 1932 Ford Roadster is the hot rod of choice, and why their modern variant is an "Every Man's Roadster". It has become an icon amongst hot rodders. The problem is that a nice looking original one is usually too nice or worth to much to drive around on the streets. We all know cruising around is one of the main reasons why people build hot rods, and this Roadster fills all these needs and then some. Be sure to check out the B2 crew as they walk us through a build of their $60,000 custom in Part II of this series.
If you can’t afford to build a $200,000 show car hot rod, but you still want to enjoy a sweet custom 32 roadster, B2 has your bases covered. Just about everything in the final design is customizable by the buyer. Whether you want it to fit in the streetable show car crowd or the rat rod crowd, they can make it happen.
Cholo was out having fun in one of their example 32’ roadsters. This roadster packs a punch with all the reliability of a newer car. While they can come with any engine you want, this one has a 430 HP 383 package from Prestige motors and is mated to a 700R-4 from Mike’s Transmissions. This 32’ roadster gets to 60mph in just 3.9 seconds! That’s Porsche GT3 acceleration in a 32’ roadster! This roadster is all machine and has no room for any BS plastic crap. The entire body is made from steel, no fiberglass wacky panels here. No aspect of the car was looked over, every detail was perfected so that this would be reliable enough to drive across the country. Everything down to the chassis is painted or chromed. As put by Dooby, the interior man at B2 Design Group, “Elegant, yet modern.”
I think I am going to have to add one of these to my dream list of cars I am going to have in my fantasy 50 car garage.
