Getting into the shows is easy when you're traveling with the Webridestv.com film crew! Camille Anderson and the Webrides team were at Bob's Big Boy car show, getting the scoop on all the sweet rides. Bob Kindoll, the founder of Bob's Big Boy show, had his gorgeous 57 Ford two door Post featured first. The 390 FE motor in this ride was pillaged from a later Ford Galaxie, apparently a popular swap back in the 60's. The power increase is fenominal with the swap, as the triple carb'd 390 cubic inch V8 is capable of 400HP.
The stock 4 speed Toploader transmission was still in place however, making this a very cool, period correct, custom cruiser. The partially restored daily driver is as rare as it is beautiful, featuring a 323 posi-9 inch rear axle and traction bars. A baby blue exterior splattered with chrome accents and a grey tweed interior clothe this sweet driver, seeing lots of miles of road from Bob.
Next up was Mike Shiells black and chrome 69 Corvette Stingray. The C3 Corvette has a revered status amongst collectors, perhaps because of the unorthodox way it was introduced to the market, via the Hot Wheel toy models. It doesn't hurt that these were the last "classic" looking Vette's that featured the large HP and power that was not re-introduced to the brand for many years.
This sweet vette had a lot of power under the hood, sporting a 427 Big Block Tri-power mated to a 400 turbo automatic transmission. Capable of 440 HP and top speeds over 120mph, this black Stingray is not joking around when it comes to power. Gene Wining's car was next, a very cool 1938 Chevy Master Deluxe featuring a very consistent paint scheme.
Black exterior with white and red accents give this ride a finished look. The black paint shines off the flowing body lines and wide fender wells, and the large chrome grill sits vertically in front of the tall nose, while the red and white interior stand in stark contrast. The red dash and interior metal is offset by the white steering wheel and seats, which in turn are framed with red piping. The scheme is repeated in the wheels, with red rims surrounded by wide body whitewall tires.
