In today’s latest edition of the WebRidesTV.com look of the 2007 Los Angeles Auto Show, we see the Chief Program Engineer of Jaguar, Mick Mohan, presenting the 2009 Jaguar XF.
Along with a beautiful styling and Jaguar’s always-present classy looks, you can get the standard V8 with 300HP or you can get the supercharged engine with 420 horsepower engine. Of course this all comes with a brilliant flappy-paddle shifting transmission, innovative drive selection system, heartbeat-esque starter button, and a myriad of other bells and whistles. The air conditioning vents even open and close when your car stars up or shuts down! The V8 Luxury variant, Mohan said, would cost the American consumer a modest $49,975, which puts a great deal of luxury and prestige at your fingertips for a decent cost.
Jaguar Cars Limited is a subsidiary of Tata Motors based in Whitley, Coventry, United Kingdom. As a luxury car manufacturer, Jaguar’s history goes all the way back to 1922, where it was the Swallow Sidecar Company (not quite as cool a name as Jaguar), and in 1934, they became SS Cars Ltd. (which was arguably as cool as Jaguar). 1945 became the host year of the company we now know as Jaguar, and the Ford Motor Company bought ownership in 1989 only to sell it in May of 2008 to their current owners, India’s Tata Motors.
The sale left a bad taste in a number of people’s mouths however it is clear by the new changes in the company that they are making the right decisions. Most notably, the XF replacing the S-type has proven to be an excellent decision, as the Jaguar image now seems sportier than ever. The S-type was the kind of vehicle you can imagine a rich old man to be driving, but the new, stylish, modern and luxurious XF seems like the kind of ride you could imagine a young billionaire driving. I know I can’t wait to get my hands on one of these!
