The Nissan Pivo 2 concept vehicle is quite a package of convenience and imagination. The small 4-wheeled bubble is the second generation of the first Pivo which was introduced at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show. Lithium-ion batteries power the tiny automobile. The adjustment of wheel positioning during turning and straight accelerations is very interesting. The wheels realign to adjust to the desired direction of the car. Unlike conventional vehicles that have the front two wheels swivel from side to side, the Pivo 2's wheels actually change relative positioning on the Pivo 2's body. Each wheel is powered by an independent electric In-wheel 3D Motor and can swivel 90 degrees to offer sideways driving. Don't be tempted to use this feature when driving at high speeds just to enjoy scenic routes. The feature comes invaluable when it comes to parking in small spaces. You will never have to parallel park now that your wheels can make sure you're perpendicular to the curb. The in-cabin neo-pet-like computer, labeled Robotic Agent, serves as your sidekick when you are traveling solo and, like Luke Skywalker's R2D2, looks out for your well being. Tired? The Robotic Agent will take note and attempt you energize you with cute and cuddly robotic behavior. You can interact with its Japanese or English personalities and relieve stress from your bland commute to work. The Pivo 2's futuristic, yet simple design could have trouble passing safety tests with its unique body. Unless it is travelling on roads with like-vehicles, the Pivo 2 will lose the battle in a collision between itself and anything larger than mid-size sedan. Even if the all-electric Pivo 2 ever never manages to hit the streets, you can be sure that this cute cartoon vehicle incorporates designs that will be found in future Nissan production vehicles.
