Lauren Jones joined Rick Torez with the GTO club to showcase a few of the gorgeous Pontiac GTO’s that the club members brought to Sacramento’s AutoRama.
One of these beauties was a black 1965 GTO with three 2-barrel carbs and 4-speed manual transmission coupled to a positraction rear end. Although the GTO was never the fastest car available at the time, it was still powerful, and more importantly racetrack ready.
Next up was a car directly from John Delorean; an eye-popping orange stunner with a ram air three 400 cubic inch monster. This 1969 GTO was a special edition named “The Judge” and featured ram-air induction that was available straight through the RPM range.
Finally, Rick showed Lauren a stock, lavender colored GTO with a modified 428 Pontiac motor, capable of over 500HP! Lots of chrome, torque thrust wheels, and custom engine tweaks rounded out a period correct and typical GTO from the 60’s that echo’s what many enthusiasts build today.
