Exquisite coverage of the Sacramento AutoRama is brought to you by WRTV and the beautiful Lauren Jones. In this video, we take a '36 Ford Two Door and a '32 Ford Roadster and see which of these two Red Hot Rods is the hottest.
Larry Kline, owner of the gorgeous '36 Ford Two Door gives us a little background on what it took to make this car the show queen you see here. Believe it or not, Larry did not have the intention of turning this '36 Ford into the masterpiece you see here, but with the purchase of the grill, he fell down that slippery slope of car customization and eventually it became a show car from the frame up. Dennis De Camp, who owns the '32 Ford Deuce Roadster, did nothing by mistake when crafting this cherry Ford Deuce. From the get go it was built with one thing in mind: a '32 Ford Deuce with modern touches that highlight what made these cars great.
Now for the comparisons. The '36 Ford has a blown Chevrolet 427 that has been bored out to 431 cubes and puts out 700 horsepower and 651 pound feet of torque. The '32 Deuce sports a 427 Ford mill with Electronic Fuel Injection that puts out 560 horsepower and 500 pound feet of torque. Although it doesn't quite put out the numbers of the '36, the all aluminum small block of the Deuce helps when it comes to weight reduction and the all important power-to-weight ratio.
As far as aesthetics go, each car has its own share of custom fabricated parts, lets see what they are shall we. The '36 sports a handmade grill and custom headlights that have been sunk into the fenders for that classic lowered hot rod look. Also contributing to that look is the 3 inches chopped from the roof. Something unique to this car is a Haylon Fire System that can be attributed to Larry's job as a firefighter. The '32 takes a more modern approach with its all aluminum body, and the car is themed after vintage race cars of the past with modern accents that make it a one off car. The F-32 theme is carried out using such touches as Indy Car inspired head rests and custom gauges. Enjoy.
