Nadine talks to Rick Lafferty, President of HKS USA about what HKS has going on at the Sema show. Rick starts it off by telling us about the new HKS GT Supercharger. The selling points of the new HKS GT Supercharger are the fact that it is significantly quieter then most other superchargers as well as the fact that it is very efficient for the amount of power it takes. The HKS GT Supercharger is also going to be 50 state legal which is something a lot of modifications these days have problems with. On a 350z the kit produces 18 percent more horsepower and a 23 percent gain in torque, this is about 50 horsepower and 60 foot pounds of torque.
Next Rick shows off the new Hipermax 3 suspension that HKS is producing. HKS has been spending over 35 years getting data from the best drivers to be able to produce better products, and the new Hipermax 3 suspension Coilovers are a good representation of that. With the ability to cope with the most pothole infested roads and still maintain a smooth ride with good handling the Hipermax 3 coilovers are definitely a good edition to anyone’s ride. Last new parts for the yet to be released in the US Evo X.
HKS is one of the defining aftermarket manufacturers in the world. Founded in 1973 by Mr. Hasegawa and Mr. Kitagawa the business partners began to work on gasoline engines in a dairy-farming shed at the foot of Mount Fuji, Japan. A year later the two developed a turbocharger system for a passenger car and it took off from there. Now HKS is run out of a 100,000 Square foot research and development facility at still housed at the foot of Mount Fuji, Japan. Over the years HKS has gone from producing just engine modifications to suspension, fuel management, and exhaust equipment.
