I remember seeing this commercial a few years ago when I went to the movies. It was one of the opening previews, but in the original (and the one on you tube) you never actually saw the car, just the part where the top is folding down. I love this commercial because the main character lives such a boring day to day life with nothing exciting, until he sees the VW Beetle convertible. I thought it was a good idea myself....
